THESE HOLLOW HILLS is a horror/fantasy novel in which the forbidden love between a demon and a human triggers an ancient prophecy that could destroy the Ozarks. Framed in its own folktale retelling, THESE HOLLOW HILLS is rooted in Ozarks folklore and is best described as The Little Mermaid (but with demons) meets Appalachian Horror.
Mount Pleasant Synopsis
Alice, Jake, and Steven are bikepacking across Missouri when relentless storms force them to seek refuge in the small town of Mount Pleasant. The charming town’s dark history slowly reveals itself and an ominous atmosphere brews.
Caught in her own web of lies, Alice must navigate her way through a relationship based on deceit as well as the malevolence in Mount Pleasant. Will Alice’s secret destroy Jake or will it even matter if they’re all dead? Will anyone escape the clutches of evil or will they all become permanent residents in the unholy town of Mount Pleasant?
